Albahra 2019 Envinate
Albahra 2019 is a red wine produced by Envinate using natural methods. It is a blend made from 70% Garnacha Tintorera and 30% Moravia Agria, which come from the Almansa region near the city of Albacete. The Garnacha Tintorera comes from a vineyard resting on clay and limestone soils. Moravia Agria comes from sandy limestone soils and produces wines characterised by high acidity and low alcohol content.
Natural farming principles are followed in the production of this wine, starting with the harvesting of the grapes, which is done manually and vinified separately for each parcel. The Garnacha Tintorera ferments with about 40% whole cluster in cement for 8 months after 8/10 days of maceration on the skins.
The Moravian Agria is completely destemmed and macerated for 7 days before being crushed and aged on fine lees in used French barriques for 22 months, for 8 months. The wine is then blended and bottled without filtration and with very little added SO2. The Albahra 2019 expresses an intense ruby red colour to the eye, while the nose releases aromas of red fruits, flowers and intense spices, for a deep and persistent sip.
