Aloxe-Corton 2021 Domaine Bruno Clair
Domaine Bruno Clair's Aloxe-Corton is a fine Pinot Noir that reflects the tradition and quality of this prestigious domaine. The vineyards, planted in 1976, cover an area of 0.3106 hectares and thrive on a clay-limestone soil that imparts a remarkable minerality to the wine. The southeast orientation of the vineyards ensures perfect exposure to the sun, promoting optimal ripening of the grapes.
Vinification of Aloxe-Corton involves the use of 20-30% whole clusters, with maceration lasting 10 to 15 days in wooden vats. This traditional method best extracts the tannins and aromas characteristic of Pinot Noir. The wine then ages for 18 to 20 months in oak barrels, about 35 percent of which are new, enriching the wine with complexity and depth.
Organoleptically, Aloxe-Corton is bright ruby red in color. On the nose, it offers a lively bouquet of fresh red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by delicate floral and spicy notes. On the palate, the wine has a firm attack, with a pleasant freshness that persists until the end of the sip, offering a well-balanced structure and pleasant acidity. The minimum recommended aging capacity is 4 years, during which time the wine develops further complexity and depth.
This wine is ideal for accompanying red meat dishes, game and aged cheeses, enhancing the flavors and structure of foods with its elegance and intensity.
