Quintarelli Alzero 1998
Alzero di Quintarelli wine is a Veneto PGI obtained from the blending of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, it is the "Bordeaux blend" from the Veneto region that is certainly part of the circle of great Italian wines and the great reds of the world.
The name Alzero derives from a small portion of the vineyard, located next to the estate of Giuseppe Quintarelli, Valorazzito after having been ignored for many years. We are located on the first hills of Negrar at 350 meters above sea level, on a basaltic limestone soil with western exposure.
The Alzero Quintarelli, after having matured for 30 months in barriques and another 30 months in large casks, has a beautiful garnet red colour, very bright. It is a complex wine, to the nose we find red fruits in jam, leather, tobacco and spices. In the mouth it is powerful with a nice alcohol content, a round and soft sip.
We are in front of a "bordolese" of Valpolicella, a great bottle, to be tasted at least once in a lifetime.
