Vin De France Les Noëls de Montbenant 2017 Richard Leroy
Richard Leroy cultivates his Chenin on less than 3 hectares overlooking the Layon. He conducts his vines biodynamically, on shallow soils on a volcanic subsoil. Since 2008, he has decided to downgrade the wines to 'Vin de France' so as to be freer in his oenological choices.
Richard signs here an elegant, delicate, dense and perfectly balanced bottled Chenin. Les Noëls de Montbenant 2017 shows a bright straw yellow colour to the eye. The nose is intertwined with notes of fruit and stone, honey, spices and mineral aromas. The palate is dry, yet incredibly smooth.
The finish is interminable and delicate, slightly saline. A great cuvée not to be missed and kept in the cellar for a few years, because Richard Leroy wines are produced in very limited quantities and sought after all over the world.
