Michel Gahier's Arbois Trousseau 'Le Clousot' 2022 is a red wine that embodies the spirit of the Jura wine region. Michel Gahier, a pioneer of biodynamic farming in the Jura, has created a wine that fully reflects the particularities of this mountainous area. Made from the local Trousseau grape variety, this wine is fresh, mineral, graceful and drinkable.
Trousseau 'Le Clousot' presents an inviting aromatic profile with aromas of ripe red fruits, citrus zest and underbrush. On the palate, it offers a juicy, taut sip with great depth and persistence, proving to be much more than just a 'vin de soif'.
Trousseau's grapes come from the Domaine's youngest vines, grown on marl-rich soils according to organic farming principles. After manual harvesting, the clusters are fully destemmed and undergo a short cold pre-fermentation maceration. Alcoholic fermentation, operated by indigenous yeasts only, takes place in contact with the skins in wooden barrels. The wine then matures for at least 12 months in old oak barrels and is bottled without clarification, filtration or addition of sulfites.
