The vineyard of "Les Bérangères" is one of the finest sites in the Arbois appellation. It shares a legacy with Jacques Puffeney, known as the “Pope of Arbois,” who crafted legendary wines from this very terroir. In the past, out of respect for his mentor, Michel Gahier refrained from using the vineyard's name on his labels. With Puffeney's retirement, Gahier now honors this hallowed ground by producing a wine exclusively released in magnum format, amplifying its aging potential and prestige.
Michel Gahier applies his natural and patient approach to winemaking for "Les Bérangères." The Trousseau grapes are cultivated without chemicals, harvested manually, and vinified with indigenous yeasts to preserve the purity of the fruit and the essence of the terroir. Gentle maceration and careful aging allow the wine to develop its complex structure and remarkable depth, reflecting the unique characteristics of its origin.
