Gaja Barbaresco 2014
Barbaresco Gaja is one of the most recognized Italian wines in the world, it is an Italian red wine with great class and personality, produced by one of the most historic and prestigious wineries in Italy, the Gaja winery, led by the legendary Angelo Gaja. Like all Gaja wines, the label alone makes it recognizable in the world, the minimalist style of the bottle's graphics is the trademark of the company.
Barbaresco Gaja comes from a blend of Nebbiolo grapes from 14 different vineyards owned by the company located in the municipality of Barbaresco, at altitudes between 250 and 330 meters above sea level. The particularly low yields, the selection of the bunches and the manual harvesting are among the main factors for the success of Gaja wines, the careful vinification and refinement procedure do the rest. This fine wine is fermented in steel vats before maturing for 6 months in barriques and another 18 months in large casks.
Barbaresco is ruby red in the glass with light orange reflections, the nose is wide and varied, we find notes of dried violet, licorice, red fruit in jam, dog rose, tobacco, leather, cocoa and cloves as well as sweet spices such as vanilla and cinnamon. In the mouth it is soft and velvety wine, with tannins perfectly integrated into the body of the wine. The finish is very long, a wine that seems to never end.
Barbaresco Gaja is undoubtedly one of the best Italian fine wines, an icon that Angelo Gaja continues to produce year after year, to the delight of wine lovers around the world.
