Barbaresco Tulin 2006 Pelissero
Barbaresco Tulin 2006 by Pelissero is a refined wine from the hills of Treiso and Neviglie, located in the heart of the Barbaresco production zone. Made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, Tulin was named after the vineyard from which it originates, creating a strong identity for the wine. The vines, planted in 1950 and 2001, are situated at altitudes between 250 and 450 meters above sea level, with a south to southeast exposure, perfect for optimal grape maturation. The medium-textured soils, rich in minerals such as magnesium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and potassium, impart a unique complexity and distinct minerality to the wine.
The winemaking process blends modern techniques with traditional methods. After maceration in temperature-controlled steel tanks, the wine is aged in wood for approximately two years, with part of it resting in 50 Hl oak barrels and the rest in barriques. This balanced wood aging avoids overpowering the wine with excessive wood influence. After further bottle aging, Tulin is ready for release.
Visually, the Barbaresco Tulin 2006 has a beautiful ruby red color. On the nose, it reveals intense mineral aromas of magnesium and iron, with a fruity bouquet and clear varietal notes, complemented by a subtle touch of wood. On the palate, the typical austerity of Nebbiolo shines through, with a smooth, velvety mouthfeel, balanced tannins, and a harmonious mix of saltiness and softness. This Barbaresco perfectly embodies the tradition of Piedmont, enhanced by a modern touch that brings out its drinkability.
