Barbaresco Vursù Gallina 2004 La Spinetta
La Spinetta's Barbaresco Gallina 2004 is one of those fine wines that you fall in love with right from the label that features the iconic rhinoceros signed by German artist Albrecht Dürer. It is one of the best Piedmontese reds capable of evolving in the bottle for years, it is a wine that makes grace and elegance its greatest virtues, certainly one of the most representative expressions of Barbaresco of the denomination.
Barbaresco Gallina La Spinetta is born in the Gallina cru of the same name, in the commune of Neive, from vineyards with an average age of 55 years with southern exposure, the calcareous soil on which the vineyards sink their roots is 270 meters above sea level. After harvesting, the bunches of grapes are fermented in steel containers and macerated on the skins for just over a week before maturing for 22 months in French oak barriques. Before bottling, the wine is neither filtered nor clarified.
The Barbaresco Gallina is ruby red in color tending to garnet, has a rich and complex nose with notes of red fruit in jam, hints of oriental spices and tertiary aromas such as leather and tobacco. In the mouth it is the emblem of elegance, vigorous but soft, powerful but refined, with a moving grace. The finish is very long, a wine that never ends, from the first sip you understand that we are dealing with a wine of great quality, those that are not easily forgotten.
