Barbera d'Alba Vigna Francia 2019 Giacomo Conterno
Giacomo Conterno's Barbera Francia, is one of the best bottles of the appellation, it is one of the few Barbera wines grown in a Cru, in France cru from which it takes its name, from which also the Nebbiolo grapes used for the homonymous Barolo Francia and the famous Barolo Monfortino. Barbera Cascina Francia Conterno comes from one of the best vineyards in Langa, in the municipality of Serralunga d'Alba, in the vineyards the work is carried out with passion and extreme attention to the smallest details, the harvest is manual and only the best grapes are brought inside the Giacomo Conterno winery to produce his Barbera Francia. The bunches are de-stemmed and then pressed, before being vinified in steel, the refinement takes place in large barrels for a total of 20 months, before being bottled and sold. Giacomo Conterno's Barbera d'Alba Cascina Francia is presented in the glass with a beautiful ruby red color, on the nose it is red fruit that dominates the scene, accompanied by red flowers and a mineral component. In the mouth it is a powerful wine, balanced with a light tannic texture and a pleasant freshness. The Barbera Francia Conterno is certainly a heavyweight in its category, a fine Piedmontese wine to be tasted at all costs.
