Barbera d'Alba Cerretta 2020 Giacomo Conterno
Barbera Cerretta by Giacomo Conterno, is one of the best bottles of the appellation, it is one of the few Barbera wines grown in a Cru, the Cerretta cru from which it takes its name, from which the Nebbiolo grapes used for the Barolo Cerretta of the same name are also derived.
Barbera Cerretta Conterno comes from one of the best vineyards of the Langa, in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba. In the vineyards, work is carried out with passion and extreme attention to detail, the harvest is manual and only the best bunches are brought into the Giacomo Conterno winery to produce his Barbera Francia. The bunches are destemmed and then crushed, before being vinified in stainless steel. The wine is aged in large casks for a total of 20 months before being bottled and sold.
Giacomo Conterno's Barbera d'Alba Cerretta presents itself in the glass with a beautiful ruby red colour, on the nose red fruit dominates the scene, accompanied by red flowers and a mineral component. In the mouth it is a powerful, balanced wine with a light tannic texture and a pleasant freshness.
Barbera Cerretta Conterno is definitely a heavyweight in its category, a fine Piedmontese wine to be tasted at all costs.
