FRATELLI BARALE
Fratelli Barale, great wines from Langhe
Fratelli Barale is a historic family estate in the commune of Barolo. It was founded in 1870 by Francesco Barale, one of the pioneers of Barolo, and stands in a beautiful location at the foot of the Castle of Barolo. Today the estate is managed by an all-female team: sisters Eleonora and Gloria support their father in the agronomic management and Stefano Dellapiana in the oenological management.
At the heart of the company's philosophy is the concept of respect for the environment, which is necessary for the production of quality bottles, and the Fratelli Barale winery has had the courage to reject modern interventions during vinification and refinement. The approach in the vineyard is inspired by the principles of organic farming, spontaneous grassing is practised between the rows and only natural products based on copper and sulphur are used.
In addition, a targeted study applied to the yeast strains present in the vineyard has led to the isolation of the genotypic variants most peculiar to and suited to a given ecosystem. This work, together with a particularly suitable terroir, makes it possible to create very territorial bottles of high quality. Along with the cultivation of the Langhe's main variety, Nebbiolo, there are other native varieties such as Arneis, Dolcetto and Barbera.
