Barolo Bric del Fiasc 2017 Paolo Scavino
In the range of Paolo Scavino, a Piedmontese winery which has been recognized for its talent and passion for its land and for the ancient farming traditions, we find this Barolo Bric del Fiasc.
The term Piedmontese refers to the name of the Fiasco vineyard, from which the Nebbiolo grapes come, an area where the terroir is given by a combination of Tortonian soils which give elegance to the grapes, and Helvetian soils which give structure and power. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation are done at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, whereas malolactic fermentation is done in barrique.
Aging lasts 12 months in French barriques, then 12 months in large oak barrels. This wine expresses the terroir faithfully through its great balance between structure and finesse: it offers complex scents of violets, red fruits and underbrush, balsamic and spicy notes. The sip is full and enveloping, with a silky tannic texture, balanced by a fresh finish.
