Description

Barolo "Bric del Fiasc" Magnum 2004 Paolo Scavino

Barolo Bric del Fiasc takes its name from the vineyard from which it was born, the Fiasco cru on the hill of Castiglione Falletto, which has always been owned by the Scavino family. The first vintage was produced following the 1978 harvest when Enrico Scavino convinced his father to make wine separately from the grapes of this vineyard, in contrast to the practices of the time.

The Bric del Fiasc Scavino is produced on the Tortonian and Elevtian soils of the Fiasco vineyard, these two peculiarities give rise to a Barolo among the best of the denomination, a mix of power and finesse. In the cellar both large casks and barriques are used, the wine is in fact matured for 12 months in barriques and for another 12 months in large oak casks.

Barolo Bric del Fiasc Paolo Scavino has a beautiful deep garnet red color, the nose releases a wide and varied bouquet with fruity, floral and spicy hints: violet, dried flowers, red fruits in jam, licorice, pepper, nutmeg and undergrowth. In the mouth it enters decisively with refined and well-integrated tannins supported by a nice freshness in the background. One of the best Barolo of the Piedmontese panorama, a wine capable of evolving in bottle for years and years, to be reserved for a great occasion!
