Description

Barolo Bussia 2003 Monti Paolo

Barolo Bussia Monti 2003 is a fine wine produced in one of the most interesting areas of Piedmont, Monforte d'Alba, from the Grand Cru Bussia vineyard at 280/300 meters above sea level.

Monti has always focused on the excellence of their wines from the work in the vineyard where the harvest is manual and where it is preferred to reduce the yields due to a better quality of the grapes, and also the work in the cellar. Maceration on the skins for 10 days is followed by one year aging between new and one year old French oak barrels. At the beginning of the second year wine is assembled and finish aging in oak barrels for 18 months more.

Barolo Bussia Monti has an intense garnet color, with orange reflections due to this bottle 16 years old. The nose is elegant permeated by ethereal hints, small berries, chocolate and mineral notes. In the mouth it picks up the nose with a persistent note of licorice. It certainly takes time to oxygenate it, ensuring adequate opening of the bouquet. The wine is harmonious and persistent, and still maintains a good dose of acidity, a product worthy of its terroir and the great work of the company.
