Barolo Cannubi 2017 Elio Altare
Barolo Cannubi 2017 is a fine wine from Piedmont produced by Elio Altare. It is made from Nebbiolo grapes from 30-year-old vines from Cru Cannubi, which grow on soil composed of clay-calcareous marl, sand and clay.
According to Elio Altare's philosophy, this label is also produced with minimal intervention both in the vineyard, where yields are very low, and in the cellar. In the style of the great French wines, Elio also prefers to age the wine in barriques rather than in the traditional large barrels, in a perfect fusion of tradition and innovation. Maceration on the skins in rotofermenters takes place at controlled temperature for 4/5 days, followed by ageing in French barriques (30% new) for 24 months.
The Barolo Cannubi 2017 shows an intense ruby red colour with garnet highlights, while the nose expresses an elegant bouquet of roses and flowers. The sip is aldo, elegant and with a sweet finish reminiscent of fruit and flowers.
