Barolo Cerretta 2013 Garesio
Garesio winery's Barolo Cerretta is a wine of great value, loved and appreciated by enthusiasts and experts around the world. Produced on the winery's estate of the same name, located in the prestigious Barolo production area in Piedmont, this wine represents the excellence of viticulture and winemaking in the region.
The Cerretta cru covers about 4 hectares of land, located in a privileged position at about 400 meters above sea level. The vines, owned by the estate, are cultivated following traditional Piedmontese viticultural techniques, with particular attention to soil management and plant care. The grapes, from vines between 20 and 40 years old, are harvested by hand during the second half of October, when they have reached proper ripeness.
Barolo Cerretta is vinified in the traditional way, with fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature for about 3 weeks, followed by maturation for 30 months in 500-liter French oak barrels. Then, the wine is bottled and left to age for at least 12 months in the cellar before being marketed.
The result of this viticultural and vinification work is a wine of great elegance and complexity, characterized by a deep ruby red color with garnet highlights. Ripe red fruit notes emerge on the nose, accompanied by hints of spice, licorice, tobacco and leather. In the mouth, Barolo Cerretta is soft and velvety, with good structure and well-integrated tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent, with a pleasant note of dried fruit.
In general, Barolo Cerretta from the Garesio winery is a wine of great elegance and complexity, which is well suited to accompany meat dishes, such as roasts and braised meats, or aged cheeses. Thanks to its structure and ability to age, this wine is also perfect for storing in the cellar and enjoying on special occasions.
