Barolo Cerretta Riserva 2016 Garesio
Garesio winery's Barolo Cerretta Riserva is a wine of great prestige, appreciated by wine enthusiasts and experts around the world. Produced on the estate of the same name owned by the winery, located in the Barolo production area of Piedmont, this wine is the result of meticulous work and great passion in grape cultivation and winemaking.
The Cerretta vineyard covers about 4 hectares of land, located in a privileged position at an altitude of about 400 meters. The vines, owned by the winery, are cultivated following traditional Piedmontese viticultural techniques, with special attention paid to soil management and plant care. The grapes, from vines between 20 and 40 years old, are harvested by hand during the second half of October, when they have reached proper ripeness.
Vinification of Barolo Cerretta Riserva takes place in the traditional way, with fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about 3 weeks, followed by maturation for 36 months in 500-liter French oak barrels. Subsequently, the wine is bottled and left to age for at least 12 months in the cellar before being marketed.
The result of this viticultural and winemaking work is a wine of great elegance and complexity, characterized by a deep ruby red color with garnet highlights. On the nose, notes of ripe red fruit emerge, accompanied by hints of spice, licorice, tobacco and leather. In the mouth, Barolo Cerretta Riserva is soft and velvety, with good structure and well-integrated tannins. The aftertaste is long and persistent, with a pleasant note of dried fruit.
Overall, Barolo Cerretta Riserva from the Garesio winery is a wine of great elegance and complexity, which is well suited to accompany meat dishes, such as roasts and braised meats, or aged cheeses. Thanks to its structure and ability to age, this wine is also perfect for storing in the cellar and enjoying on special occasions.
