Cordero di Montezemolo Barolo Enrico VI 2004
The Barolo Enrico VI 2004 by Cordero di Montezemolo is a masterpiece of elegance and austerity, originating from a historic 2-hectare vineyard in Castiglione Falletto. Situated at 300 meters above sea level, with southwest exposure, iron-rich soils, and vines over 50 years old, this unique terroir imparts an unmistakable personality to the wine.
The name "Enrico VI" was introduced in the 1970s to celebrate two significant family milestones: the birth of Enrico, Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo’s sixth child, and the acquisition of the prized vineyard in 1965. Since then, this Barolo has been the only expression of the winery from a terroir distinct from its other vineyards in Annunziata di La Morra.
Thanks to its cooler microclimate and compact clay soils, Barolo Enrico VI stands out for its masculine robustness, earthy character, and prominent menthol notes. On the palate, it reveals remarkable volume and breadth, with abundant yet soft and sweet tannins, creating a harmonious balance within its bold and complex structure.
