Nadia Curto Barolo La Foia 2005
The Barolo "La Foia" 2005 by Nadia Curto reflects the rich winemaking heritage of the Langhe, crafted with respect for tradition and terroir. Sourced from the eastern-facing Arborina vineyard in La Morra, the Nebbiolo grapes thrive on blue marl soils at altitudes between 270 and 300 meters. With a manual harvest yielding about 65 quintals per hectare, vinification includes extended maceration and natural fermentation using indigenous yeasts.
The wine matures for 24 months in large oak barrels, followed by an additional year of bottle aging without filtration. It displays a bright garnet hue with orange reflections. Aromas reveal an intricate bouquet of rose petals, licorice, leather, and earthy truffle notes. On the palate, "La Foia" is full-bodied and robust, with velvety warmth and balanced minerality. Pair it with white truffle dishes or traditional Piedmontese cuisine for a true taste of Langhe's winemaking legacy.
