Barolo Prapò 2016 Luigi Vico
Luigi Vico's Barolo Prapò 2016 is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes that come from the Prapò vineyard in the commune of Serralunga d'Alba, Piedmont. Fermentation takes place in cement tanks for about 28 days (depending on the vintage), with daily pumping over and mid-period delestages.
Subsequent aging takes place in large 25 hl oak barrels from the Fontainebleau forest (18 to 30 months depending on the vintage). Luigi Vico's Barolo Prapò 2016 shows an intense ruby red color, which will turn towards garnet and orange tones with aging.
The nose expresses a complex bouquet of red cherry, macerated strawberry, hints of licorice, violet and cocoa, for an ample and full-bodied sip, with evident but ripe tannins.
