Barolo Rocche di Castiglione Magnum 2017 Brovia
Barolo Rocche di Castiglione 2017 by Brovia is a fine Piedmontese wine, one of the most interesting traditional versions of the wines of the Langhe. It is the result of meticulous work in the vineyard and in the cellar where modern techniques are used, even if referring to traditional production methods. The Barolo Villero di Brovia is made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes from the anonymous cru. The grapes are carefully selected, then undergo a long maceration on the skins and spontaneous fermentation followed by malolactic fermentation and the subsequent 24 months ageing in medium French oak barrels. It has a not too full ruby red colour, characteristic of Nebbiolo; on the nose it gives a complex bouquet of cherries, dried red flowers and spices, against a background of earth and roasted coffee and tobacco. In the mouth it is balanced between structure, freshness and tannin, where it shows a great elegance that will express itself at its best after some years of ageing.
