Barolo San Lorenzo di Verduno 2016 Fratelli Alessandria
Barolo San Lorenzo di Verduno 2016 Fratelli Alessandria is a fine wine from Piedmont. It is made from Nebbiolo grapes that come from a single plot located in the municipality of Verduno, which has optimal conditions for the growth of the grapes: excellent exposure to the south and an altitude of about 250 meters above sea level. The vines are over 30 years old and give grapes of particular aromatic intensity.
The soils consist mainly of limestone, with a good presence of silt. The grapes are harvested by hand, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts takes place in steel tanks at a temperature of 29-31 °C and a total duration of maceration on the skins of about 20-25 days. Refinement takes place for 36 months in 20-30 hectolitre Slavonian oak casks, rests for 2 months in steel and ends its long process of refinement with six months in the bottle before release.
San Lorenzo di Verduno" is a unique and territorial Barolo that expresses an elegant garnet red colour. The nose offers a complex bouquet of fresh and dried flowers, officinal herbs, small berries, liquorice root and slightly toasted hints. The taste is structured, complex and deep with well-integrated tannins and a long, harmonious finish.
