Barolo Serra 2017 Giovanni Rosso
Giovanni Rosso's Barolo Serra is a great red wine from Piedmont, made from Nebbiolo grapes from the Serra vineyard, located in the highest part of the Serralunga Municipality. The south-eastern exposure, the soils rich in limestone, the average age of the vines of more than 30 years contribute to give this Barolo a finesse and elegance which is difficult to replicate.
The harvest is carried out manually with selection of the bunches, once arrived in the cellar they are destemmed, crushed and fermented with indigenous yeasts in cement tanks with maceration on the skins for 28 days. At the end of maceration the wine is aged for a variable period of 18-36 months, according to the vintage, in large oak casks.
Barolo Serra Giovanni Rosso shows a ruby red color, accompanied by a complex nose in which dominate the scents of underbrush on a background of blackberry and blueberry, cherry, tobacco, mint and leather. In the mouth is a fine and elegant wine, very harmonic between nose and mouth, with a fine tannic texture and a very persistent finish.
