Bonnes Mares Grand Cru 2021 Domaine Bruno Clair
Domaine Bruno Clair's Bonnes Mares Grand Cru is an extraordinary wine that fully expresses the excellence of Pinot Noir. The vines, planted in 1946, 1962, 1978 and 1980, cover an area of 1.6413 hectares and thrive on a unique terroir. The soil is composed of clay and limestone, enriched by a limestone subsoil with entroques and Ostrea acuminata marls. This composition lends a distinctive minerality to the wine. The southeast orientation of the vineyards, located at an average altitude of 280 meters, ensures perfect sun exposure, which is essential for the ripening of the grapes.
Vinification of Bonnes Mares Grand Cru involves the use of 30-50% whole clusters, with maceration ranging from 10 to 15 days in wooden vats. This traditional method allows the development of a complex tannic structure and rich aromatic variety. Maturation takes place for 18 to 20 months in oak barrels, about 45 percent of which are new, adding depth and complexity to the wine.
From an organoleptic point of view, the Bonnes Mares Grand Cru shows a very deep red color. On the nose, it offers an intense bouquet of black fruits, such as blackberry and cherry, accompanied by spicy and earthy notes. On the palate, it proves to be a powerful and complex wine, with a well-defined tannic structure and extraordinary length. The aromatic persistence and depth of flavors make it an ideal match for red meat dishes, game and aged cheeses.
This wine represents a magnificent expression of the terroir of Bonnes Mares, reflecting Domaine Bruno Clair's dedication and skill in vineyard cultivation and winemaking.
