Bourbon Reserve 90 Proof Barton 1960s
Barton 1960s Bourbon Reserve 90 Proof Barton is a high-quality American whiskey produced by the Barton distillery during the 1960s. The bourbon was produced using the traditional bourbon production method of using at least 51 percent corn in the grain mixture, along with barley and rye.
After mixing the grains, the mixture is ground and mixed with water to create mash, which is then heated to activate fermentation. The fermented mash is then distilled in copper stills to produce the base alcohol, which is then aged in American white oak barrels, previously charred on the inside, to give the bourbon its distinctive amber color and notes of vanilla and caramel.
Barton 1960s Bourbon Reserve 90 Proof Barton 1960s has a deep amber color with golden highlights. On the nose, there are notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, toffee and spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. In the mouth, the bourbon is smooth and round, with notes of caramel, vanilla, dried fruit and sweet wood. The alcohol content of bourbon is 90 proof, or about 45 percent alcohol, which contributes to the bourbon's good structure and long, lingering finish.
