Bourgogne Aligotè "Clos Du Roy" 2021 Sylvain Pataille
The Bourgogne Aligotè 'Clos Du Roy' 2021 is a pure and vibrant expression of the Aligotè grape variety, produced by the capable hands of Marsannay's visionary vigneron Sylavin Pataille. Aligotè is the most widely planted white grape variety in Burgundy after Chardonnay and is commonly considered to be its younger brother. However, it is often able to surprise with its energy and personality, as in the case of this fine white wine.
Sylvain Pataille is one of the leading names in the production of natural wines in Burgundy, made using traditional methods based on care and respect for the environment, without sulphites or other chemicals.
This white wine is made from Aligotè grapes that come from the Clos du Roy in Chenôve, the northernmost site of the Marsannay appellation. The vineyard is located at an altitude of 270 metres with a fairly steep slope and a south-eastern exposure, on soils of limestone and clay.
The grapes are harvested by hand and pressed in vertical presses, after which the must ferments on its lees spontaneously with indigenous yeasts and matures in steel and barriques for about a year.
The Bourgogne Aligotè "Clos Du Roy" 2021 expresses a pale straw yellow colour to the eye, while the nose opens with elegant floral notes that give way to yellow fruit such as apple and pear and mineral notes. The sip is pleasant, taut and vibrant thanks to a remarkable dose of freshness.
