Bourgogne Rouge Cuvée Juliette 2018 Domaine Dominique Gruhier
The 2018 Bourgogne Epineuil Rouge Cuvée Juliette is a red wine from Burgundy produced by Dominique Gruhier. The 100% Pinot Noir grapes come from vineyards located in Epineuil surrounding the charming Quincy Abbey, owned by the Gruhiers since the 1990s. The village of Epineuil is located just northeast of Chablis, sharing the same Kimmeridgian soils, and this particular type of limestone soil, together with a continental climate that favours slow ripening of the grapes, gives great elegance to the wines, even the Pinot Noir-based reds.
This Cuvée Juliette is a pure and authentic expression of the philosophy that Dominique wants to convey through his wines: an elegant and expressive red, it is made from 50% whole grapes and matured for 15 months in 10% new oak barrels.
Intense ruby red in colour, the nose expresses aromas of red fruits such as cherry and blackberry, together with mineral and undergrowth aromas. The taste is characterized by a great aromaticity that recalls the red fruits and spices perceived on the nose, it is enveloping with its roundness and the fineness of the tannins for an intense and deep finish.
