Domaine Gros Frère's Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits is a refined and complex wine made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from clay-limestone soils of the renowned Hautes Côtes de Nuits AOC appellation.
The vines from which this wine comes grow on clay-limestone soils characteristic of the region. This soil composition contributes to the wine's freshness and minerality, distinctive elements of the best Burgundy wines. The orientation and altitude of the vineyards ensure optimal ripening of the grapes, which are cultivated with great care and attention.
The vinification of Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits involves fermentation in steel, followed by aging in new fûts for 50% of the production, for a period of 12 months. This process maintains the purity of the fruit and adds complexity through the influence of wood, but without overpowering the intrinsic characteristics of Pinot Noir.
To the eye, this wine shows a deep ruby red color. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of red fruit notes, with predominance of currants and blackberries, enriched by subtle spicy hints that add to its appeal. In the mouth, the wine stands out for its well-defined structure, with immediately perceptible tannins but balanced by a pleasant freshness and an intense fruity flavor. The finish is long and smooth, leaving a persistence that invites further sipping.
This Pinot Noir is perfect to serve with dishes such as pan-seared duck breast with cooked must and grapes, where the complexity of the wine marries beautifully with the richness and succulence of the dish.
