Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2019 David Duband
This entry-level wine from Domaine David Duband is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from approximately 45-year-old vines from the terroirs of Chambolle Musigny and Morey St Denis, growing on clay and pebble soils. The grapes are harvested strictly by hand, selected and vinified with 40% whole bunches for about 2 weeks.
After fermentation, the grapes are pressed and the wine is racked 30% into new barrels and 70% into first, second and third passage barrels. After 14 months of ageing, the wines are racked into vats, where they settle for about 3 months before being bottled without filtration or ageing.
David Duband's 2019 Bourgogne Pinot Noir expresses a ruby red colour with garnet highlights on the eye. The nose offers scents of peony, berries, spicy and mineral notes, while the sip is elegant and soft but balanced by a nice minerality and tannin.
