Pauillac Carruades de Lafite 2006 Château Lafite Rothshild
Carruades de Lafite is a red wine produced by the renowned Château Lafite Rothschild estate, located in the Pauillac area of Bordeaux, considered one of France's most prestigious wine regions.
Carruades de Lafite is made mainly from the Cabernet Sauvignon grape variety (about 60%), supplemented with Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (10%). The vineyards from which the grapes come have an average age of 45 years and are grown on clay and limestone soils that give the wine elegance and complexity.
Château Lafite Rothschild's production philosophy is based on strict control of all stages of production, from the organic cultivation of the vines to barrel aging, to achieve the maximum expression of terroir.
Vinification takes place in steel, while aging lasts about 18 months in oak barrels.
Carruades de Lafite 2006 shows a deep ruby red color. Aromas of ripe red fruits, cassis, black currants, nuances of cedar, tobacco and sweet spices stand out on the nose. In the mouth it is refined and elegant, with velvety tannins and a long aromatic persistence. A wine with a complex personality that encapsulates the essence of the Pauillac terroir.
Thanks to its class and elegance, Carruades de Lafite can be enjoyed right away, but also aged for 10-15 years to enhance its qualities. Excellent paired with red meat dishes, game and aged cheeses.
