Chablis 1er Cru "Vaudevey" 2021 Domaine Julien Brocard
The Chablis 1er Cru "Vaudevey" 2021 from Domaine Julien Brocard is a white wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, cultivated on the loamy, calcareous soils typical of Burgundy. This terroir imparts extraordinary minerality and complexity to the wine, enhanced by the biodynamic cultivation and winemaking techniques employed by the Domaine.
The "Vaudevey" vineyard is situated in a prime location with eastern exposure, ensuring optimal ripening of the grapes while preserving their freshness. The grapes are hand-harvested to ensure they arrive intact at the winery, where they are gently pressed to obtain pure, aromatic must. Fermentation occurs in oak barrels, followed by aging on fine lees, which adds fullness and complexity to the wine.
Since 1998, all vineyards at Domaine Julien Brocard have been farmed biodynamically, going beyond organic farming to follow natural, cosmic, lunar, and biological rhythms. This practice aims to stimulate and enhance cultivation techniques to fully express the typicity of the Chablis soil.
The Chablis 1er Cru "Vaudevey" 2021 is distinguished by its floral bouquet, with notes of dandelion and peony complemented by lemon, quince, and hints of white chocolate. On the palate, the wine is fresh and saline, with a crisp acidity that provides liveliness and a pleasant marine sensation on the finish. The wine's structure is juicy and harmonious, making it a delight to drink.
