Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos 2020 Domaine Joseph Drouhin
Domaine Joseph Drouhin's Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos is a high-quality white wine produced in the Chablis wine region of France, in northern Burgundy.
The grapes used in its production come entirely from the vineyards of Les Clos, one of the seven Grand Crus of Chablis, located on the right bank of the Serein River. Les Clos is one of the region's most renowned vineyards, known for its terroir of limestone and clay, which gives the wine great complexity and minerality.
Domaine Joseph Drouhin adopts a sustainable growing philosophy, using soil working techniques and reducing the use of chemicals. The grapes used in the production of Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos are 100% Chardonnay, a varietal known for its sensitivity to terroir and its ability to express the characteristics of the place.
Vinification is done in the traditional way, with soft pressing of the grapes and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel barrels. The wine is then matured in wooden barrels for a period of 12 to 18 months to achieve greater aromatic complexity.
Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos from Domaine Joseph Drouhin is golden yellow in color with greenish highlights. The nose reveals notes of citrus, white flowers, white-fleshed fruit and minerals. In the mouth it is elegant, complex and full of flavors, with great acidity and a long, mineral finish. This is a wine of great elegance and structure, which pairs well with fish and shellfish dishes.
