Chambolle-Musigny "Les Veroilles" 2021 Domaine Bruno Clair
Domaine Bruno Clair's Chambolle-Musigny “Les Veroilles” is a fine Pinot Noir that embodies the elegance and complexity of this terroir. The vines, planted in 1990, cover an area of 1.5961 hectares and thrive on clay-limestone soil. The subsoil consists of Premeaux limestone and white oolites, which give the wine a distinctive minerality. The southeast orientation of the vineyards, located at an average altitude of 325 meters, ensures excellent sun exposure, promoting balanced ripening of the grapes.
The vinification of Chambolle-Musigny “Les Veroilles” involves the use of 20-30% whole clusters, with maceration lasting 10 to 15 days in wooden vats. This traditional process best extracts the tannins and complex aromas of Pinot Noir. The wine then ages for 18 to 20 months in oak barrels, about 20 percent of which are new, adding depth and finesse to the flavor profile.
Organoleptically, Chambolle-Musigny “Les Veroilles” shows a brilliant ruby red color. On the nose, it offers an elegant bouquet of fresh red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, enriched by delicate floral and spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is distinguished by its finesse, with good length and a well-balanced tannic structure. The minimum recommended aging capacity is 4 years, during which time the wine develops further complexity and depth.
This wine is ideal with white meat dishes, light game and soft cheeses, enhancing flavors with its elegance and refinement.
