Champagne Cristal 2004 Louis Roederer
Champagne Cristal 2004 is one of the finest champagnes in the world, produced by Louis Roederer, one of the most renowned houses in the Champagne region of France.
The cuvée of this Champagne is composed of 58 percent Pinot Noir grapes and 42 percent Chardonnay grapes, sourced from ten of the maison's finest estate vineyards located in the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected to ensure the highest quality.
The winemaking techniques used to produce Champagne Cristal 2004 are extremely rigorous and sophisticated. After harvest, the grapes undergo gentle pressing to extract only the highest quality must. The must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to ensure a slow and homogeneous fermentation. Next, the base wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, following the traditional Champagne method. This stage takes place deep in the maison's cellars, where the wine is aged on the lees for at least 6 years.
Champagne Cristal 2004 has a brilliant golden color with greenish highlights. The nose reveals complex aromas of citrus, dried fruit, honey and mineral notes. In the mouth it is creamy and enveloping, with great acidity that balances the sweetness of the fruit and the toasty note derived from the long aging on the lees. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of the citrus and mineral notes. Its elegance and finesse make it a perfect champagne for special occasions and to accompany refined dishes such as raw fish or oysters.
