Champagne Cristal 2007 Louis Roederer
Cristal 2007 is a fine champagne produced by the prestigious Maison Louis Roederer.
The cuvée of this champagne is composed of 60 percent Pinot Noir grapes and 40 percent Chardonnay grapes, sourced from eight of the best vineyards owned by the Maison, located in the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs. Again, the grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected to ensure the highest quality.
The winemaking techniques used to produce Champagne Cristal 2007 are similar to those of Cristal 2004. After gently pressing the grapes, the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Next, the base wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, following the traditional Champagne method. The wine is then aged on the lees for at least 8 years before being degorged and marketed.
Champagne Cristal 2007 has a bright golden color with greenish highlights. The nose has intense aromas of ripe fruit, citrus, white flowers and mineral notes. In the mouth, it is complex and well-structured, with great acidity that perfectly balances the sweetness of the fruit and the toasty note derived from the long aging on yeasts. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of the citrus and mineral notes.
Overall, the 2007 Champagne Cristal presents itself as a champagne of great elegance and finesse, with a powerful structure and remarkable aromatic complexity. It is a perfect wine for special occasions and to accompany refined dishes such as raw fish, shellfish or blue cheeses.
