Champagne Cristal 2012 Louis Roederer
Champagne Cristal 2012 is a champagne label produced by the maison Louis Roederer, one of the most prestigious in the Champagne region of France.
The cuvée of this champagne is composed of 60 percent Pinot Noir grapes and 40 percent Chardonnay grapes, sourced from ten of the maison's best estate vineyards, located in the Montagne de Reims, the Marne Valley and the Côte des Blancs. The grapes are hand-picked and carefully selected to ensure the highest quality.
The winemaking techniques used to produce Champagne Cristal 2012 are extremely rigorous and sophisticated. After harvest, the grapes undergo gentle pressing to extract only the highest quality must. The must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to ensure a slow and homogeneous fermentation. Next, the base wine undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle, following the traditional Champagne method. This stage takes place in the maison's cellars, where the wine is aged on the lees for at least 8 years.
Champagne Cristal 2012 shows a bright golden color with greenish highlights. The nose reveals notes of ripe fruit, citrus, white flowers and mineral notes. In the mouth, it is creamy, enveloping and structured, with great acidity that balances the sweetness of the fruit and the toasty note derived from the long aging on the lees. The finish is long and persistent, with a return of the citrus and mineral notes. Its elegance and finesse make it a perfect champagne for special occasions and to accompany refined dishes such as raw fish or oysters.
Overall, Champagne Cristal 2012 is a champagne of great refinement and complexity, with a powerful structure and remarkable aromatic complexity. It is a wine that is perfectly suited to any occasion, from aperitifs to desserts.
