Champagne Grand Vintage 2006 Moet & Chandon
Moet & Chandon's Champagne Grand Vintage 2006 is a prestige champagne produced in the Champagne region of France using grapes from various vineyards located in 17 of the region's 320 communes. The composition of the cuvée consists mainly of Pinot Noir grapes (44 percent), followed by Chardonnay grapes (37 percent) and Pinot Meunier (19 percent).
The grapes used to produce this champagne are grown following the principles of sustainable agriculture, which involves the use of natural techniques to maintain soil and plant health, limiting the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The vines are cultivated manually and the grapes are harvested by hand when fully ripe, in small boxes to preserve their integrity.
The winemaking process for Champagne Grand Vintage 2006 involves gentle pressing of the grapes and fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation is avoided to preserve the wine's natural acidity. The base wine is then blended and bottled with the addition of yeast and liqueur de tirage to start the second fermentation in the bottle, which takes place in the cellar for at least 8 years.
Moet & Chandon's Champagne Grand Vintage 2006 is a sparkling wine with a deep golden color and greenish highlights. The nose has notes of tropical fruits, such as pineapple and mango, combined with a floral aroma of white flowers, with hints of vanilla and toast. In the mouth it is creamy and complex, with an elegant structure and a very long aromatic persistence. Its balanced acidity makes it very pleasant to drink.
