Krug Rosé 22eme Edition
The vinification of Krug Rosé begins with a careful selection of the grapes, which are harvested by hand to ensure maximum quality. The grapes are then gently pressed, obtaining the free-run juice, which is then fermented in wooden barrels. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out, in order to preserve the freshness and vivacity of the wine.
After fermentation, the base wine undergoes careful blending, in which the role of the winemaker is crucial. Krug Rosé is composed mainly of Pinot Noir grapes (50-55%), with a contribution from Chardonnay (25-30%) and Pinot Meunier (15-20%). Part of the base wine is then left in contact with the skins for a few days to acquire its characteristic rosé colour.
The maturation of Krug Rosé takes place in wooden barrels for at least 7 years, during which time the wine acquires depth, complexity and harmony. Fermentation in the bottle (méthode champenoise) gives the wine a delicate effervescence.
On the nose, Krug Rosé 22ème Edition reveals an extraordinary complexity, with notes of red fruits, dried flowers and sweet spices. On the palate, the wine is intense and harmonious, with a nice acidic tension and a pleasant sensation of freshness. The aftertaste is long and persistent, leaving notes of red fruits and spices.
In summary, Krug Rosé 22ème Edition is a rosé champagne of great elegance and refinement, produced with great attention to detail and a passion for quality. It is a perfect wine to pair with sophisticated dishes and moments of great celebration.
