Champagne Vintage 2006 Krug
Krug Vintage 2006 is a champagne of great elegance and complexity, produced by one of the most prestigious champagne houses in the world.
The vinification of this champagne follows traditional, artisanal methods, using only the finest and most selected grapes from vineyards located in some of the best areas of the Champagne region. After hand-picking the grapes, which usually takes place at the end of September, they are gently pressed and the must obtained is then fermented in wooden barrels. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out, in order to maintain the wine's maximum freshness and acidity.
The Vintage 2006 is produced in limited quantities, only when the vintage has reached an exceptional level of quality. The 2006 vintage was characterised by cool and balanced weather, which allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness, while maintaining a vibrant acidity and freshness that are a signature of the Krug style.
The Champagne has an intense golden colour and a fine, persistent perlage. On the nose, it opens with a complex aromatic bouquet, revealing notes of ripe fruit such as apples and pears, accompanied by hints of citrus and spices, such as ginger and vanilla. In the mouth, the wine is full, round and creamy, with a lively acidity that lends balance and freshness to the wine. Ripe fruit flavours mingle with notes of honey, toasted almonds and a subtle minerality, resulting in a long, lingering finish.
The Krug Vintage 2006 is a champagne of great elegance and refinement, with an aromatic complexity that continually develops in the glass, inviting you to discover new details. It is a wine that can be enjoyed immediately, but which also has great ageing potential, reaching its full expression after a few years in the bottle.
