Chassagne Montrachet 2016 Bernard Moreau
Chassagne Montrachet 2016 is a fine Burgundy wine produced by Domaine Bernard Moreau. It is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from the area of the Chassagne Montrachet appellation: in particular about 1/3 comes from Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot and Champgains (with soils that offer minerality to the grapes) and 2/3 from the Puligny-Montrachet border ( greater freshness and fruit). As Bernard himself said: "The spirit of our winemaking is not to touch the wine too often. For Chardonnay our goal is to produce very clean and precise wines that are not too austere. We like minerality and purity." This Chassagne Montrachet 2016 fully represents the wines of this denomination and shows a bright straw yellow color; the nose is defined, with aromas of white-fleshed fruit such as peach and citrus. In the mouth it is refined and balanced, the fruit returns to be felt along with a beautiful freshness and flavor, for a slightly spicy finish.
