Chassagne Montrachet "Chambrées" 2020 Caroline Morey
The Chassagne-Montrachet Chambrées is a white wine of the highest quality produced by Caroline Morey in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, one of the most renowned in the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy. The Chardonnay grapes come from the Chambrées vineyard, located in a terroir characterized by limestone and clay soils that give the wine a pronounced minerality.
The vines, trained in Guyot and with yields of 45hl/ha, are hand harvested and meticulously selected. After slow pressing, the must ferments in barrique where it remains on the fine lees for 16 months with frequent bâtonnage. The result is a wine with a deep, brilliant straw yellow color. On the nose, intense aromas of white flowers, white-fleshed fruit, hazelnut and minerals.
On the palate it is fresh and mineral, with lively acidity balanced by a pleasant softness. The finish is very persistent. Excellent with noble fish, shellfish and moderately aged cheeses.
