Chassagne-Montrachet Les Battaudes 2020 Agnes Paquet
This Cuvée of Agnes Paquet is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes from a parcel located under some 1er cru vineyards in the "Morgeot" appellation. The vines are around 30 years old and grow on deep, rich soil, with clay but no limestone.
This results in a fullness of flavour although Agnes has been very careful to preserve a certain amount of freshness. The wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation and malolactic fermentation in barrels, and matures for 12 months in barrels plus 4 months in vats before bottling.
The Chassagne-Montrachet les Battaudes has an intense straw yellow colour, while the nose offers fruity, mineral and spicy vanilla aromas, for a full and creamy sip, but fresh at the same time.
