Cornas 2019 Mickael Bourg
This Cuvée produced by Mickael Bourg is made from Syrah grapes from old vines in Mazards and younger vines from the terroir of Saint-Pierre. It is a wine produced using traditional methods and in a sustainable manner: fermentation is spontaneous using indigenous yeasts, ageing takes place in wood for 14/18 months plus a brief rest period of a few months in the bottle before release. Intense ruby red in colour with purple highlights, this 2019 Cornas from Mickael Bourg expresses fruity aromas of cherry and raspberry on the nose, hints of black pepper and toasted hints of chocolate. The sip is rich and enveloping, quite tannic and endowed with a nice savoury finish.
