Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2019 Magnum Domaine Rapet
Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2019 Magnum is a white wine from Burgundy produced by Domaine Rapet. We are looking at one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards of the Cote de Beaune, to which the name of Charlemagne is linked, in particular the Chardonnay grapes that make up this bottle come from 4 different plots, all located in the En Charlemagne and Le Charlemagne locations.
Vincent Rapet takes great care of this prestigious terroir, renewing and replanting the vines when necessary. The young vines, aged around 10 years, bring finesse and frankness to the fruit, while the older vines, aged 50 years or more, bring richness and minerality due to the composition of the terroir with its steep, shallow soils, lean soils and subsoils of lime and limestone.
Rapet's Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2019 expresses a delicious bouquet of white flowers, vegetal and balsamic touches such as eucalyptus, dried fruit, citrus fruits and mineral salts. The sip is rich and concentrated but at the same time savoury and endowed with lovely acidity, mouthwatering fruit and great length. A great white wine from a great terroir, which is able to express itself fully after 5-10 years of ageing in the cellar.
