Côte de Nuits-Village 2019 Domaine Philippe Livera
Côte de Nuits-Village 2019 is a red wine from Burgundy produced using natural methods by Domaine Philippe Livera. The Pinot Noir grapes come from their own vineyards in the lieu-dit "Préau", in the village of Brochon which borders Gevrey-Chambertin.
The vines were planted by the family in the 1950s and 1960s and are east-facing at an altitude of approximately 900-950 m above sea level, on soils that combine calcareous marl and clay. The wine is made using natural farming methods that aim to express the different terroirs in an authentic way.
Fermentation is spontaneous, using only indigenous yeasts, while the wine is aged in French oak barrels for between 11 and 18 months depending on the vintage. This 2019 Côte de Nuits-Village expresses a nose of black and red summer berries, liquorice, light earth and baking spices. Smooth, with medium tannins; flavours of red berries red berries, juicy plum.
