Côte de Nuits Village 2021 Maison Romane
This pleasant Côte de Nuits-Villages comes to us from the appellation of the same name in the northern part of the Burgundian Côte d'Or. Its Pinot Noir grapes come from a selection of small plots between the communes of Magny-lès-Villers, Flagey-Echézeaux and Vosne-Romanée.
The vineyards of origin are located on gentle slopes and hillsides with varying southern/southeastern exposure, and have limestone-clay soils rich in marl, ideal for the balanced development of Pinot Noir.
After manual selection of the grapes, a traditional red winemaking process takes place. Destemming, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and a moderate maceration phase on the skins to extract fruit and spices without weighing down.
After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures for several months in steel tanks and used oak barrels.
The result is a bright, inviting ruby red. On the nose hints of small red fruits, cherry, raspberry and pleasant spicy notes. The palate is lean and elegant, with soft tannins and a savory finish. Perfect with cured meats, grilled white meats, fresh cheeses and pasta with light sauces.
