The Côte de Nuits Villages by Petit Roy embodies the excellence of Pinot Noir, a noble variety that finds its utmost expression in the blessed lands of Burgundy. Here, on a terroir characterized by clay-limestone soil mixed with small pebbles, the Pinot Noir vines thrive, capturing the soul of this prestigious wine region.
The grapes, cultivated with care and passion, are handpicked to ensure the highest quality. The winemaking process is a true ritual, beginning with whole cluster fermentation at low temperatures for 20 days. This delicate method allows for the extraction of the full aromatic complexity of the grapes while preserving their freshness and vitality.
Subsequently, the grapes are pressed and undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks, where a magical transformation takes place under the watchful eye of the winemaker. After this crucial phase, the wine rests in wooden barrels for a period of 12 months. This aging period imparts extraordinary depth and complexity to the wine, enriching it with nuances of wood and a well-defined structure.
But the journey of Petit Roy's Côte de Nuits Villages doesn't end there. After its stay in wooden barrels, the wine is transferred to stainless steel tanks for an additional 5 months of maturation. This final phase allows the wine to further refine its personality, expertly integrating all elements of its character.
The end result is a wine of extraordinary beauty. Its deep garnet color captures the eye, while on the nose, it unfolds with elegant aromas of raspberry, ripe red berries, and jujube. The fruity sweetness envelops the palate with softness, while a round body and complex finish invite further exploration.
On the palate, Petit Roy's Côte de Nuits Villages once again reveals itself as a masterpiece of balance and elegance. The mineral undertones harmoniously blend with notes of red and dark fruits, while the present tannins impart structure and depth to the wine.
