Coteaux Champenois Rouge 2006 is a red wine produced in the Champagne region by Guy Michel. Under the appellation Coteaux Champenois are the still wines produced in the Champagne region, wines that represent a niche market nowadays. Produced in limited quantities and certainly not by all Champagne producers, these wines are only produced when the best vintages permit.

Indeed, it is difficult for grapes to reach the right maturity for still wines in the Champagne climate. The Maison Guy Michel, in the heart of the Vallèe de la Marne, cultivates 50% Pinot Meunier in the total 20 hectares of its estate, and it is from this pure grape variety that its Coteaux Champenois is made.

Completing Guy Michel's interesting range of Champagnes is this particular still red wine Coteaux Champenois 2006, which surprises us with a bouquet of blackcurrant and blackberry, peony and light spicy notes, for an elegant, balanced and persistent sip.
