Description

Dolcetto d’Alba Colombé 2011 Renato Ratti

Dolcetto d’Alba Colombé 2011 by Renato Ratti embodies the tradition of the Langhe, especially the Dogliani area, renowned for its long history with the Dolcetto grape. Grown at 500 meters of altitude, this wine stands out for its freshness, balanced tannins, and characteristic pleasant bitterness, making it a beloved everyday wine on the tables of Piedmont. It is versatile, perfect for both casual and more formal occasions.

The wine is made using traditional methods: the hand-harvested grapes are de-stemmed and pressed, with fermentation taking place in temperature-controlled steel tanks. After about a week of contact with the skins, malolactic fermentation occurs in steel, preserving the wine’s freshness and aromatic intensity.

The color is a ruby red with violet reflections, and the aroma is intense, with notes of cherry and ripe plum. On the palate, it is balanced, fresh, with the right amount of tannins, and a pleasantly bitter finish. Thanks to its moderate alcohol content and excellent freshness, Dolcetto d’Alba Colombé pairs perfectly with Italian appetizers, pasta dishes, and fresh cheeses, as well as light, traditional meals.
